RESEARCHES
In constant articulation with the academical environment, we outline two distinct research fields: MOVEMENT, SOUND AND VOICE and MEMORIES AND HISTORY OF DANCE, from which result publications, lectures, courses and performative conferences.

PROJECTS
(2020-2021)
SONOROUSCHOREOGRAPHY: COGNITIVE AGREEMENTS BETWEEN MOVEMENT, SOUND, AND VOICE IN BODIES THAT PERFORM MULTIPLE ARTISTICAL TASKS
This project was a theoretical and practical study carried out in the Department of Art History, Musicology and Theatre Studies from the University of Ghent (Belgium), in partnership with Professor Doctor Marc Leman and IPEM/ASIL (Institute for Systematic Musicology/ArtScienceInteractionLab), with a CAPES-PRINT grant (Junior Visiting Professor).

SONOROUSCHOREOGRAPHY AS ART-CONCEPT: UNEXPECTED FLOW BETWEEN BODY-VOICE,
COGNITION, MEMORY AND CULTURE
The project is a theoretical and artistical study thriving from the crossing of creative processes, bibliographic investigations, and experiments. The interest in carrying out this research comes from developing the artistic concept of sonorouschoreography as the designation of certain composing fashions as well as a cognitive-cultural category in the treatment between movement, sound and voice. The main hypothesis is that both movement and voice compose cultural and cognitive employments, which transform aesthetic, political and power relations. In order to dialogue with this perspective, contributions were sought from authors of Body Studies, Cognitive Science and Embodied Music Cognition, whose perspectives are surrounded by themes such as perception, body and culture, sound production, memory and movement. The discussions led by this investigation have been spawning the production of scientific papers, essays, oral
presentations of papers in scientific events, short duration courses
and the creation of shows. Linked to this project are the artistic researches alongside Pró-Posição Dance Company, Katharsis Theatre Company and with TEIA - Território de Estudos Interdisciplinares em Artes (Territory of Interdisciplinary Studies in Art) (ECA-USP), besides the scientific-artistic investigation alongside IPEM/ASIL from Ghent University, with a CAPES-PRINT grant (Junior Visiting Professor).

DANCED HISTORIOGRAPHY AND
MEMORIAL CARTOGRAPHY
The project seeks to investigate the action of the artists who undertake the role of dance archivists and dialogue, within their work, with historical and memorial traces, collapsing the parts of artist and historian. It also aims at working on the hypothesis of the cartography of memories formulated during the doctoral research “Mediatic cartography: the bodymedia concept in the construction of the memory of dance" (PUC-SP, 2012). For this purpose, this study dwells on the autobiographical and documental works of the company Pró-Posição between 2007 and 2012, to move from there in search of other case studies. The company Pró-Posição was founded in the city of Sorocaba, in 1973, and left its mark on Brazil's dance history, with important productions born from the partnership between its creators Denilto Gomes (1953-1994) and Janice Vieira. In 2017, after a 24-year hiatus, the group resumed with a series of autobiographical works that bring together mother (Janice Vieira, the group's founder) and her daughter, Andréia Nhur. In 2013, the group received the APCA Award for the continuous research of dance. Workpieces after resumption fall between dance and documentary, once they compile documents, testimonies, videos and pictures of past and present times. . In this context, the research proposes to discuss the historiography of the bodies, generated from the crossing of archives, repertoires and testimonies in temporal and memorial dislocations that turn the scene into a possible historical spelling. It refers to a historical proposition of dance that emerges from dance itself and its works, against a historical writing from chambers. To this project, relate artistical researches alongside Pró-Posição Dance Company, Katharsis Theatre Company and TEIA-Território de Estudos Indisciplinares em Artes (Territory of Interdisciplinary Studies in Art) (ECA-USP).

(PRÓ-POSIÇÃO DANCE COMPANY-2018)
The work shows a historiographic proposal based on the communication between work pieces and dance artists.
The study derives from an academic and artistic research about the swan as a connective element between hegemonic historical narratives and the transversal and marginal memories present in the processes of citation and recreation. A performative lecture will be done based
on the dance of the swan created by the Brazilian company Pró-Posição, an important reference in contemporary
dance that emerged in Brazil in the 70s.
